Introduction to Public Speaking Do your children say “um,” “like,” “so,” or “you know” too often? Do they look into your eyes while they are speaking? Do they get nervous when they have to speak in front of an audience? How is their articulation? Are they speaking clearly, or do you sometimes have trouble understanding them?
During this introductory class, the students will be introduced to some of the most important skills that are needed while speaking in public. We will work on: eye contact, posture, projection, articulation, elimination of speech fillers, projection, and hand gestures. Additionally, the students will learn how to organize and construct a short speech to be delivered on the final day of class.
