Based in Allentown, New Jersey, Markus is currently pursuing a Post- Baccalaureate degree at the Curtis Institute of Music. He spent two years at Temple University as a Garrigues Scholar, studying with Joseph Conyers. From there, he went on to receive a Bachelor's degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Albert Laszlo, Rex Surany, and Joseph Conyers. Markus is a member of the Camden-based orchestra, Symphony in C. He has performed with the New Jersey Symphony as Principal Double Bass, and has frequently performed with the New York-based chamber orchestra, New York Classical Players. He spent two consecutive summers at the Lucerne Music Festival and the Music Academy of the West. Other music festivals that he has attended include, the Wabass Institute, Domaine Forget, and NYO-USA. In addition to playing the Double Bass, Markus also enjoys playing the electric bass, and acoustic guitar.
