Michael Gilch has taught beginner, intermediate, classical, and jazz piano to students of all ages for over ten years. He has performed solo and with many different bands at live music venues in New York, Philadelphia, the Jersey Shore, and up and down the East Coast. For the past seven years, he has musically directed, conducted, and played in pit orchestras for theaters all over the tri-state area (including many wonderful shows with the awesome students and arts teachers at Allentown High School). He also taught pit percussion for the AHS marching band from 2009-2014 and still frequently collaborated with band director Mr. Hecht on marching and jazz band projects with the students. He has collaborated on numerous original theatrical productions, including a few in Princeton and Philadelphia with Miss Rachel of Mill Pond Arts. He has worked as a studio musician for years in the New York and Asbury Park scenes, collaborating with many touring bands and local artists on their music. Michael graduated from Rutgers University in 2012 with a B.A. in English and a minor in Italian.
